How do I generate an AI Forensic Analysis report?
Last updated
On the project's AI Analysis tab, set the case type and details, pick sections, add a case narrative, then click Generate Report. It runs in the background.
You generate the AI Forensic Analysis report from the project's AI Analysis tab. If the report is enabled for your account and the project has finished processing, the tab opens a short wizard headed "AI Forensic Analysis" that walks you through three steps.
Step 1: case setup
First you frame the matter so Daystrom knows what to look for:
Pick a case type. This tailors the sections and the analysis focus to the kind of matter you are working. You can also run a general analysis without a specific type. See how to choose a case type.
Add case details. These fields are optional, but the more context you give, the more targeted the findings. You also set the account types in the project so Daystrom reads the transactions in the right context.
Step 2: choose your sections
Next you decide what the report covers. The wizard shows two columns, Your Report and Available Sections, with a set already suggested for your case type. Drag sections between the columns to add or remove them, and drag within Your Report to reorder. A few core sections are pinned and stay in place.

Each section has a option. Open it to type an instruction for that section, for example "focus on cash withdrawals over 5,000 dollars," and Daystrom weighs it when it writes that part.
Step 3: review and add a case narrative
The last step is a case narrative, optional but worth writing. This is where you tell Daystrom the bigger picture in plain words: what the story of the case is, what you are trying to prove, and why it matters. A good narrative frames the findings around your legal theory, not just the numbers. Below it, a preview lists the sections the report will contain.
When you are ready, click Generate Report. The button shows a rough time estimate beside it.
While it generates
Daystrom writes the report on its servers, so you do not have to wait on the screen. You will see a "Daystrom is on the case" panel, and it typically takes 5 to 10 minutes, longer for a project with a lot of transactions. Leave the tab and come back whenever, the report will be waiting.
When it is done, the report appears with an "On this page" menu to jump between sections. From there you can export it to Word or regenerate it if the picture changes.
