# Why don't I see a Portfolio tab for this project?

> The CounselPro Portfolio tab shows up only when a project has a brokerage or investment statement. No securities in the project means no tab, by design.

The **Portfolio** tab is not on every project. It appears only when a project has investment or brokerage statements to show, so a bank-only matter will not have it at all.

## When does the Portfolio tab appear?

As soon as a project has an investment or retirement statement in it. If you have uploaded a brokerage statement and it is still processing, the tab shows up early in a reading state, so you know it is coming. When the statements finish, the tab fills with holdings, activity, and realized gains, and it carries a green **New** badge.

If a project has no securities statements and none on the way, the tab simply is not there. There is nothing to unlock or click, the account just has no investment data yet.

## I uploaded a brokerage statement but still don't see it

A couple of things to check:

- **Give processing time to finish.** A brokerage statement is read on its own track. While it works, the tab shows **Reading the brokerage statements**. See [what happens after you upload statements](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/what-happens-after-you-upload-statements).
- **Confirm the feature is on for your account.** Reading brokerage statements is a separate capability. If a project processed an investment statement but the Portfolio tab never appeared, brokerage support may not be enabled for your account. Reach out to support to check.
