# When do insights update after I add new statements?

> CounselPro refreshes insights on its own once newly added statements finish processing. You can also force a rebuild with Regenerate Insights in the header.

You do not have to rebuild insights every time you add statements. CounselPro keeps them current for you, and gives you a button when you want to force it.

## Do insights refresh automatically?

Yes. When you [add statements](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/upload-your-first-statements) to a project that already has insights, CounselPro refreshes them once those new statements finish processing. It waits until nothing is still processing, then recomputes the whole set so the numbers include the new data.

This happens quietly in the background, so there is no banner telling you it is stale. If you just added statements, give the processing a moment to finish and the insights will catch up.

## How do I force a rebuild?

Use **Regenerate Insights** in the project header. It asks you to confirm, then rebuilds the dashboard from scratch. Reach for it when you want to be sure you are looking at the latest, for example right after resolving a batch of flagged items or [recategorizing transactions](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/recategorize-a-transaction).

> **Note:** Every rebuild recomputes the whole project, not just the new statements. That keeps totals and breakdowns consistent instead of stitching new numbers onto old ones.

If a project shows no insights yet at all, it has not been built once. See [what "Generate insights" does](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/generate-insights).
