# How do I choose a case type for the AI Forensic Analysis report?

> Pick a case type and Daystrom tailors the report's sections and analysis focus to that matter, from family law to bankruptcy, or run a general analysis.

When you [generate an AI Forensic Analysis report](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/how-to-generate-an-ai-analysis-report), the first thing you set is the case type. It is not a label for filing, it changes the report itself: Daystrom uses it to suggest the right sections and to point the analysis at what matters for that kind of matter. A family law report leans into lifestyle and income; a bankruptcy report leans into transfers and eligibility.

## The case types

On the case type step, you pick from a list built for the practice areas CounselPro serves, including:

- Family law
- Bankruptcy
- Civil litigation
- Probate
- Business disputes
- Business acquisition
- Medicaid
- Immigration

If none of them fit, or you just want a broad read of the money, choose **General Analysis** and Daystrom runs a general-purpose report without tailoring to a specific matter.

## Add case details for a sharper report

Once you pick a type, the wizard shows a short set of optional detail fields for that matter, plus an **Account Type(s)** choice so Daystrom knows whether it is reading personal accounts, business accounts, or both. None of it is required, but every bit of context sharpens the findings. If you know the theory of the case, this is a good place to hint at it.

## Can I change the case type later?

Yes. The report is a [one-time document](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/regenerate-or-delete-the-ai-analysis-report), so to switch case types you regenerate it. When the wizard reopens it remembers your previous answers, so you only change the case type and rerun. For the deeper "tell the whole story" step, you write a case narrative on the review screen, covered in [how to generate the report](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/how-to-generate-an-ai-analysis-report).
